This review is from: Sesame Street Chair Desk (Toy) Overall this is a good product that can provide many days of fun for a young one. I was most impressed by the quality of the graphics. They are very well done, very clear, even the smaller ones, and very accurate to Sesame Street. The finish also wipes clean pretty easily which is a good thing because there are probably going to be a lot of crayon marks.Our daughter loves to draw with crayons and we needed a spot she could do it, to frankly try to help contain her from drawing on every surface everywhere. The desk is not a panacea but it helps. She is learning that is her drawing space and that the crayons go away if she uses them somewhere else. She can maneuver in it fairly easily. But she is small for her age and just 21 months old. I think older children might have an easier time getting in. But get in she does and she does enjoy her desk. So it has been a winner for us as it is working as hoped for. A couple of reservations. The instructions are 'Ikea style' just pictures. This works fine but they combined a lot of steps into one picture. Perhaps too many. Being familiar with Ikea type assembly will help. There were actually extra screws and bolts. That was nice. There were some small gaps after assembly but they are not too big to be a safety issue or make the desk look unattractive. Overall the finish is very good at this price point. And the fabric storage box is a nice added bonus. In the end the positives outweigh the negatives. It is a good value as it is a fine desk at a good price. The graphics are the best part. They are bright, cheerful, different on every side, and accurate. All of the graphics are very well done, very crisp. I also like the finish being easy to clean. Finally they added numbers in a couple of places for extra educational value. And you can get it built. It might take a bit of figuring out but it isn't overly hard. Recommended. This review is from: Sesame Street Chair Desk (Toy) We are raising our 2 year old grandson and wanted to get him a little desk to use for learning time. I was a little reluctant to order this due to some of the bad reviews and the people stating how hard it was to put together. Perhaps I drew the right straw this time because it was super simple to put together and everything fit perfectly. However, I will note that the last two instructions on the sheet are deceiving and if you aren't paying close attention you too will think you need to drill a new hole for the screws to fit. But if you just take a minute and use a little logic you can see that the picture appears to be off but it is just showing you what the piece looks like even though it appears to be showing you how to install the part. I too installed it incorrectly the first time and thought "rats....those people were right....I'm going to have to drill a new hole".....then hubbie came along and looked at the picture, took the part off, turned it around and viola....everything fit perfectly!The desk is very sturdy and our grandson LOVES it. We put it together in the kitchen with intentions of moving it to his playroom but he won't have any part of us removing it from the kitchen. He now insists that he eat his meals there too! He loves the desk top with the letters and numbers and it is helping him learned bigger numbers so it's truly educational for him as well. We LOVE having this little desk for him and only wish we had ordered it sooner. |
